A surrender of the last

From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over the land... At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
- 27 Matthew 45, 51-53

I am all that hath been, and is, and shall be; and my veil no mortal has hitherto raised
-Inscription at the shrine of Neith-Isis-Minerva at Sais, recorded by Plutarch.

That moment when the Christ gave up his breath and surrendered His Spirit holds profound Mystery in both exoteric and esoteric Christianity. Both the orthodox and the heretic hold this moment in profound respect. The Darkness that preceded it for three hours echoed the agonies of the Cross itself- the pains of the spirit bound in matter. Darkness precedes Death, but Death precedes Life through the Son of Man.

The veil of the Temple separated the outside world from the indwelling earthly presence of God in the Holy Temple; only the High Priest was permitted beyond the veil, once a year. The slaughter of the Lamb rends the veil in twain, allowing all into the Sanctum Sanctorum, and the ashes of the old Holy Books render the sun black...

Here is the Great Midnight made manifest. For the devout, it is the moment Christ descends into the world of the Dead, the forty hours known as the Harrowing of Hell. For the heretic, the witch, and the macumbeiro, this is the assumption of Power itself, the Unveiling of Isis. The potential here for devotional meditation on the Christian Mystery proper is present through simple anointing of candles, lamps, and the body. Here also is an embodiment of the second arcanum of the Tarot, the High Priestess, enthroned as Isis crowned and holding the 'Tora', in front of the Temple veil, guardian and revealer of the Mysteries. Here too is the potential for a left-handed transferral of Great Power, whether through the arte of traditional witchcraft, or through Quimbanda under the tutelage of the great Exu Meia Noite.

The oil was made entirely on Good Friday, and a novena offered for the successful completion of the oleum. Every ingredient was prepared with silent prayer, all completed in the Great Midnight of the ninth hour. The oil is comprised, in part, of:

Oil of Golgotha ✠ Oil of Anabibazon ✠ Five different blends of Ketoret ✠
Ritual Ashes ✠ Smashed Tomb Rocks ✠ Frankincense ✠ Myrrh ✠
Holy Anointing Oil (30 Exodus 22-25) ✠

among several other ingredients...

Past the above, the oleum contains an amount of Wolf & Goat’s Fire from Heaven, soaked into a section of fine linen altar cloth, which was rent in twain at the ninth hour, and then interred in the oil.

All vegetal, mineral and animal ingredients are legally obtained. Instructions and information will be provided on a cloth scroll.
